When we were writing the May curriculum all about our Helping Hands, we couldn’t imagine passing up the opportunity to use those hands to help our communities. Many food banks around the country run low on donations just before summer and need to be restocked. It seemed like a no-brainer to use one of our activities the first week in May to send home a bag to be filled with canned goods.
Now it’s the end of the month, and all the food should be in. Did you have the kids sort it this past Sunday? What did you have the most of? Did your table look like this, or was there more?
Whether your church was able to donate 10 cans or 1,000, know that you’re helping someone in your community who needs just that little bit extra this summer. What a great use of your preschoolers’ helping hands.
We’d love to hear your story! Share either here on the blog or over on our Facebook page.
