My father thinks I’m a computer genius. I don’t know what I’ve said or done in my life to give him that impression. Perhaps it’s because I know how to turn the computer on. Or perhaps he believes that computer know-how is ingrained in the minds of the young. All I know is that he chooses to call me at all hours of the day and night to ask me his computer questions. The conversation might go something like this.
Me: (groggily answering the phone) Hello.
My dad: Are you up?
Me: (politely lying) Yeah, I’m always up at six in the morning.
My dad: Why won’t my printer turn on?
Me: I don’t know. Is it plugged in?
My dad: Yes, but the light won’t come on and I need to print a cabbage recipe.
Me: Try googling it.
My dad: What?
Me: Google it.
My dad: Google what? The cord?
Me: What?
My dad: Do you want me to google the cord or google the whole printer?
Me: No. Google. It’s a search engine.
My dad: You want me to google the search engine? Let me get my Allen wrenches.
Me: (banging my head against the bed post)
Okay, that never happened. My father knows what Google is. But the point is that I don’t have any answers for him. Computers are just about as foreign to me as they are to him.
Having said that, I’m a little new to this blogging thing and I’m not certain how it’s supposed to work. Are people actually reading this? Am I supposed to write something in order to generate a response? Do people blog because of an innate desire to create or is it more of a tool to connect with people on a broader scale?
So for this blog, I’m going to test the waters a bit. See who, if anyone, is checking in. And I’ll do that by asking for your opinion on a new product that we implemented this month called 252 Story, an addendum to Feature Presentation. Check out this previous post for more info.
I’m interested to know who’s using the product. How are you using it? Do you use 252 Movie, 252 Story, or both? How are your kids responding? Are they learning the Bible story and principles from the stories? Are there specific characters they really enjoy? I’d love to know if all of our hard work is paying off.
So take a moment to respond if you have any input about what we do. I’ll try and answer any of your questions that I can. And if I can’t, I’ll Google it.
