As a leader, you believe small groups are the answer to everything. Well, maybe not everything. But you believe small groups are the answer for how to disciple kids and teenagers, and that you can’t do this alone. You are a small group champion! If there were a cheerleading squad, you’d be the captain! If there were a fan club, you’d be the president!
There are two things we know you’re trying to balance here—your small group culture AND your parent ministry culture. You’re always trying to figure out new ways to improve your structure, empower your small group leaders and parents, and create your experiences for group and at home. Whew.
We know there’s a lot on your plate. A lot you’re trying to accomplish, a lot you’re trying to strategize.
We would like to give you a plan.
Think of Weekly as your personal assistant. You wake up on Monday morning, barely recovered from your Sunday morning super bowl, and it’s time to start all over again. You know there’s stuff you should be doing to make your groups better. But what do you work on first?
That’s where your personal assistant comes in. Not Siri—Weekly. Each Monday morning you get two fresh, sparkling TO-DO lists—one for Lead Small and one for Parent Cue. Each item on the to-do list links to one of three Lead Small Culture principles:
• Improving Your Structure
• Empowering Your Leaders/Parents
• Creating Your Message
(For more about these principles, check out the book Creating a Lead Small Culture.)
Working on each of these principles takes intentionality—and we want to help! Weekly is full of great steps to take like “Give your SGLs new goals for this season” or “Schedule your Social Media for parents.” And the best part? It gives you the resources you’ll need to make each to-do item happen. All completely customizable, of course.
On top of tons of amazing resources you can give to SGLs and parents, every month you’ll go through a Lead Small or Parent Cue topic that will help you, the church leader, with your ministry strategy. We’ll explore topics like “Developing Consistent Small Group Leaders” or “Creating a Pro-Family Culture,” through videos and ebooks by some of our favorite leaders.
So, we’ve got some training for you, we’ve got tons of training and resources for your parents and SGLs . . . but wait. There’s more.
Ever heard of the Lead Small app?
Now, I don’t mean to exaggerate, but the Lead Small app is the greatest tool for Small Group Leaders that has ever been created in the history of the universe—maybe even greater than the invention of Double Stuf Oreos. Seriously.
So, your Small Group Leaders have this amazing app that can do a lot of really cool things (the spinner being one of my favorite and lesser known features). But maybe the best part of the app is the “This Week” button, that gives them all the curriculum they’ll need for group. Right there on their phone, to review all week and be super prepared.
Weekly allows you to customize the content in the “This Week” section in the Lead Small app for your church. I know, I know. Contain your excitement so you can finish reading this blog.
You should let your leaders know what they’re doing in group. So when you get Weekly, you’ll have access to customize the app through a Channel Subscription. You’ll simply tell your leaders your church’s code, they’ll use that to subscribe to your channel in the settings portion of the app, and now they see your content!
And that’s it! It’s that simple. Weekly. Lead Small Weekly, Parent Cue Weekly, and Lead Small app, all rolled into one super subscription. And at the risk of sounding like a midnight infomercial on TV Land, I am obligated to tell you that you can get all of this for the low, low, LOW price of $14.99 a month. I can’t believe it either. (That price is for a limited time, so you might want to take advantage of it now.)
So, there you have it! The newest thing from your friendly, neighborhood Orange staff.
(Oh, and by the way, we do have a cheerleading squad, so please send your audition tapes to firstname.lastname@example.org. That, or questions.)
