VBS 2019 may be in the books (or close to being wrapped up!), but it is definitely time to be thinking about VBS 2020! It’s an exciting time of year for both VBS directors and those of us that create VBS resources because we get to begin building excitement about the amazing themes for VBS 2020!
To help leaders see basic information all in one place, I thought it may be helpful to put some details about several of the most popular VBS products all in one place. Of course I have a favorite VBS curriculum, but looking through the themes that have been released, 2020 is going to be a lot of fun for a lot of kids!
And if you need other VBS-related resources, here are a couple of suggestions for free downloads that are perfect for leaders wrapping up their 2019 VBS programs!

|THEME:||Concrete & Cranes|
|TAGLINE:||Building on the Love of Jesus|
|THEME VERSE:||I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 (CSB)|
|MOTTO:||Jesus! Our strong foundation!|
|PROGRAM OVERVIEW:||This summer, kids will grab their hard hats and head out to the construction site to discover that skyscrapers aren’t the only things that need a rock-solid foundation.
During VBS, kids will discover that Jesus’ love provides a foundation that will last. When the storms of life come, they’ll need the One who will be with them to the end of the age. When anxiety sets in, they’ll need the assurance that true worth comes from being a child of God, not from what other people think about them. When they feel unworthy, they can remember that Jesus loved them enough to die for them. They’ll learn to be wise builders who continue in what they’ve learned and firmly believe. And they will discover that He who began a good work will be faithful to carry it on to completion. We’re all a work in progress. Life is a hard hat zone. But just wait ‘til you see what God will do!

|TAGLINE:||Quest for the King’s Armor|
|THEME VERSE:||Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power. Ephesians 6:10|
|PROGRAM OVERVIEW:||VBS 2020 invites children to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of God’s power by exploring how we put on the armor of God. Kids will take on the role of brave Knights and begin their quest each session by opening the King’s Book. They’ll explore Old and New Testament stories and discover different pieces of protective armor—the Belt of Truth, the Breastplate of Justice, the Shoes of Peace, the Shield of Faith, and the Helmet of Salvation—at work in the lives of familiar Bible characters, and explore how that armor works in their own lives as they follow and serve God.
Help kids take up the gauntlet this summer and accept the challenge to “armor up” and be strong by remaining with God and sharing God’s love in a world that needs it more than ever.
